Shrinathji represents that form of the divine child Krishna when he lifted the Goverdhan Hill. Srinathaji is celebrated by the Pushtimargis (followers of Vallabhacharya School of Vaishnavism). The Lord self‑manifested from a stone and emerged from the Goverdhan Hill (near Mathura) and was first worshipped there. He is adorned with intricately woven Shanils and uniquely made silk clothes. Special events in the temple include: Every second Wednesday – recitation of Purushottam Nama Stotram, Vallabhacharya Jayanti during May, Hindola (Jhula) (July–Aug), and the highly decorated “Annakut/Goverdhan Puja” during Diwali (Oct–Nov).
