Srināthaji

Srināthaji represents that form of divine child Kṛṣṇa, when he lifted the Goverdhan Hill. Srināthaji is celebrated by the Puṣṭhimārgīs (followers of Vallabhāchārya School of Vaiṣṇavism). The Lord self- manifested from a stone and emerged from the Goverdhan Hill (near Mathura) and was first worshipped there. He is adorned with intricately – woven Shanīls and uniquely made silk clothes. Special events in the temple include: Every second Wednesday-recitation of Puruṣottam Nāma Stotram, Vallabhāchārya Jayanti during May, Hindola (Jhūla) (July-Aug) and highly decorated “Annakūṭ /GoverdhanPūjā” during Divālī (Oct-Nov).
