How the Temple Benefits
Kroger gives Hindu Temple of Greater Cincinnati a percentage of the sales from purchases by customers who have registered their Kroger Plus Card and declared our Temple their “Community Organization” in the Kroger Community Rewards Program.
There is no cost for you to join the program, you keep all your Kroger gas points and there is no extra cash out of your pocket, however, Hindu Temple of Greater Cincinnati could potentially earn up to $50,000 per quarter from Kroger Customers who use their Kroger Plus Card after registering the Temple as their Community Organization. Kroger’s new and improved program pays quarterly rewards based on a formula that includes each organization’s use and the overall use by all participating organizations enrolled in the program. Even earning 1/10th of the potential quarterly reward would be a significant windfall for the Hindu Temple of Greater Cincinnati. Important: You must register your card every year before April 1st.
Here’s how to register your Kroger Plus Card:
Existing Krogers Plus Card Users With Established Online Account
• Sign into your account at kroger.com.
• Click the logo for Kroger Community Rewards program.
• You will be prompted to find your organization. Type in Hindu Temple of Greater Cincinnati and click return. Click the circle by the Temple. The Temple’s NPO number is 81567.) You can select only one organization per card.
• After clicking on HTGC, save your selection.
New Kroger Plus Card Users or Users Wishing to Register for the First Time
• Get a Kroger Plus Card at the customer service desk of any Kroger.
• Register for the Kroger Community Rewards Program online at krogercommunityrewards.com
• Click on Sign In/Register. Click on “Sign Up Today” in the “New Customer?” box.
• Have your Kroger Plus Card handy so you can edit your account information. You will be asked to enter your zip code, click on a favorite store, enter telephone number, enter your e-mail address, create a password and agree to the terms and conditions. (Note: Remember which telephone number you associate with your account because you can use it instead of the actual card at checkout.)
• You will then get a confirmation message in your email inbox. Click on the link within the body of the email to confirm your account.
• Click on My Account and use your email address and password to proceed to the next step.
• Click the logo for Kroger Community Rewards program.
• You will be prompted to find your organization. Type in Hindu Temple of Greater Cincinnati and click return. Click the circle by the Temple. Hindu Temple of Greater Cincinnati’s NPO number is 81567.)
• After clicking on HTGC, save your selection.
• To verify you are enrolled correctly, you will see Hindu Temple of Greater Cincinnati listed under the Community Rewards tab as your “Community Organization.”
How to use your Kroger Plus card to benefit Hindu Temple of Greater Cincinnati
• At the cash register, swipe your Kroger Plus card at any time during your transaction.
• If you do not have your card with you, use the keypad where you would normally swipe your card, select alternative ID and enter the telephone number you used during the registration process to sign in.
• Your purchase will be credited to Hindu Temple of Greater Cincinnati.
• Kroger will pay up to $1,250,000 on a quarterly basis to participating organizations and distributes the money based on each organization’s percentage of spending as it relates to the total spending of all participating Kroger Community Rewards organizations.
