Lakṣmi represents prosperity and Nārāyana (Viśṇu), represents preservation aspect of the Supreme. Lakṣmi grants us wealth, and Nārāyana safeguards it. Lakṣmi and Nārāyana have appeared on earth in numerous incarnations (avatārs) to reinstate dharma (right path), protect the good and punish the wicked. Special events in the temple include: Viśṇu Sahasranāma on Thursdays, Satyanārayana Pūjā on Full Moon days, annual Brihat (108) Satyanārayna Pūjā, Puruṣa Sūkta Homa in the Yāgashāla (summer) and Vaikunta Ekādashi(Dec-Jan).
