Jagannāth is a form of Kṛṣṇa worshiped together with his brother Balarām and sister Subhadrā. The icons are made of wood, an exception to common Hindu iconographic practice of stone sculptures. The world famous Jagannāth temple is located in Pūri (in the state of Orissa) and known for colossal Rath Yatra (chariot festival) (June/July), which gave a new word juggernaut (unstoppable) to English vocabulary! Special events in the temple include: Every fifth Sunday of the month Jagannāth Pūjā and, a grand Rath Yātra (chariot festival) during June/July.
