Seated on a white swan, Sarasvatīis the embodiment of knowledge, wisdom, speech, and music. To exemplify that She holds a book and vīna(lute). She is specially worshiped by seekers of art, wisdom and knowledge. She is consort of Lord Brahma. Special events in the temple include: Sarasvatī Pūjā (Vasant Panchami) accompanied with great festivities including “Vidyārambha” (commencement of studies) for school children during Feb-March. Also, three days are dedicated to her worship during the festival of nine nights (Navarātri) in the Fall season.
